Hi it’s Cathy Mellett, from Net Branding, be seen, be heard, be found online.
I was at an event this week when I was asked the question what is the difference between SEO and Google ads.
In the world of Digital marketing, I would say that your search engine optimization or SEO is the long-term champion because what it actually does is it focuses on your organic results i.e., how you come up naturally in Google and that can drive traffic, organic traffic to your website.
On the other side, Google ads has a very similar feature it can drive traffic to your website, But, under the Google ads system you are paying for that traffic. So, SEO becomes organic/longer term, but Google ads is more instant and can be an instant delivery of customers to your doorstep.
However, the real ability is to understand that both search engine optimization and Google ads can complement one another. one can be an interim step to achieve your SEO or alternatively they can actually support one another based on how your rankings and what you are currently wanting to achieve.
Search engine optimization however builds that solid foundation for your long-term success. So, at the end of the day, it depends on where you currently are in terms of your digital strategy. What you’re wanting to achieve in terms of their digital strategy and how you utilize SEO or search engine optimization versus your Google ads and remarketing.
If you’re interested in having that conversation with me, my name is Cathy Mellett of Netbranding, Be seen, Be Heard, Be found online.
