LinkedIn is primarily for business use, it is a great place to share your knowledge and expertise within your field and to build a network of like minded people who may find the things you have to say of interest.  But what other advantages may a LinkedIn profile have?  Please find a few of my thoughts below.

  1. Use your LinkedIn profile to expand your network significantly and create more work opportunities for both you and your business by joining groups and discussions on various topics that you are interested in.
  2. Showcase your work experience, news and research, but more important, your work achievements and recommendations from your work colleagues and clients.  Remember to use the status updates function within LinkedIn and blogs are ideal material to assist you in keeping your profile updated.
  3. LinkedIn in allows people and acquaintances or potential customers and yes employers to contact you, faster and more accurately.
