The domain names space is changing again.

At the end of September 2014 the .nz domain name space will undergo a change. The new, shorter .nz domain names will be available for general registration from 1pm, 30 September 2014.

On this date, existing second level domains – like the .co in .co.nz and the .org in .org.nz are going to become optional and people can register with them, without them, or both.

Right now you are used to seeing domain names like these (anyname.co.nz), but this change will mean you’ll also see ones like this (anyname.nz). This is because existing second levels will be optional and people will be able to get .nz domain names with or without them.

What this means for you and your online presence?

If you have a co.nz (or .net.nz, .org.nz) domain name, you’re an existing registrant and may be eligible to pre-register or reserve the shorter version of your domain name before it becomes available to anyone else. Grab your domain now before someone else does!

If you are interested please contact our Net Branding team in order for us to pre-register your .nz domain for you.

All .nz domain names shall be priced at the price of $39.95 + GST.  *Subject to change
