Digital divide causes and effects

Digital divide causes and effect and what’s the consequence of you getting wrong. Every single one of us is approached on numerous occasions by people trying to peddle their digital services. They send us emails, we find them in our inbox. They connect with us on social accounts, and they share all their experience and what they can do for our business.

But let’s look below the surface. I had good look at one of such peddler over the weekend. And what I noticed was, although he was offering a full refund, and although his claims were generating 6500 leads for somebody in 90 days, he’d filled my newsfeed multiple times through the period of two days. But his views hadn’t changed. And effectively when I counted the amount of times that I’ve been on to his video to actually assess his promises. That’s the level of views that were changing. So his videos were going to no one else but me. An interesting concept was I the only person targeted for that video, I somehow doubt. But more than that, when I then dug into his profile, it was a reasonably new profile. He didn’t have much of a following. And he had very little engagement on any of his previous posts. And there was no consistency that could back up the claims he was making. So be careful out there, because consequences of choosing service providers that don’t have the experience can have impacts on your business. But it doesn’t only come to the world of Google ads or the world of social media.

Let’s actually talk wider than that. So let’s talk about the digital divide and causes and effects, and getting it wrong. Another client was approached by a search engine optimization company, they could do so many things from competitor analysis to backlinks, etc, etc, etc. You’ve all seen the emails. So he asked me what I thought the first thing that I noticed was that the email that that correspondence had come from didn’t match to the actual website domain. And then I had a few quick look at the website domain. And there were some severe issues on that website.

Is that somebody that would be authorized and equipped to be able to deal with what do you need them to do? So again, dig deeper, the consequences of getting decisions wrong can be huge.

What about those demands for payments?

demands for payments

Have you hit one recently a huge demand for a Google payment. They say they come from Google AdWords. And they say that you owe their money. And they say that there’ll be a high penalty if you actually don’t fulfil that penalty and pay the account. Again, look below the surface. Most emails that come from Google should come from a google.com address. This one didn’t came from a Gmail account. When they say that your account is in arrears. Is it really have you had a look at the Google Dashboard, have you looked at your accounts dashboard is really in arrears. And also the other giveaway that this was a potential hoax was the fact that it actually referenced a wrong currency in terms of the demand.

So again, I ask you when you are solicited, or where you do receive unsolicited mail, whether it be for SEO, whether it be for Facebook campaigns, whether it be for funnel marketing, whether it be guaranteed whether, whether, whether, whether, whether, be careful. Because as I said at the beginning, the consequences of making an incorrect decision can have a huge impact on some of your online credentials, on some of your online digital assets, and the standing that you have in Google moving forward.
