I’ve received numerous messages today from clients regarding strange emails that they are receiving from twitter.  Some are derogatory or refer to a blog post or picture of you that is untrue, scandalous or provided “laughable” material.

THIS IS A SCAM to get you to click on the link.  The link then takes you to an account that mimics the Twitter account and looks like the real thing.  The only hint that it is not is the URL (see top of screen).  You will see that it is not twitter.com but a misspelt version of twitter.

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD.  Once you do, they then utilise your account to send similiar messages to your friends.

Remedy: If your account has been hacked.  Go to twitter.com and reset your password however if you have automated links between various profiles please notify your service provider so that they are able to make the required changes.

Regards

Cathy
