If you don’t want to miss the updates of your friends or favorite pages, go to your friend’s profile, click on “Friend” and click on the very top option “Get Notifications”. You can also select “Show in News Feed” / Settings -> “All Updates” as well. For your favorite Pages, go to their Page, click on “Liked” and select the very top option “Get Notifications”. Now you will receive an alert when they have an update!
For those that have received the Facebook hoax now doing the rounds in a disguised Facebook graph wrap. Those instruction encourage you to do the opposite.
