We are aware that major changes are being rolled out in March 2012 relating to Facebook business pages.
Our Total Social Media Product is being upgraded in order to ensure that this tool allows you to continue to customise a template to professionalise your Facebook Page yet conform to the Facebook Standards.
By way of information, you will no longer be able to set a custom page to be the default page that non fans see. The new design forces the wall to be the default view for both fans and non fans. That means that you need to get creative with those four navigation tabs underneath the cover photo to convince people / internet searchers to view your custom pages.
There are very stringent new rules you need to be aware of.
Your cover photo / strip must not include:
- Price, offers or purchase information, such as “40% off” or “Download it at our website.” (ie: Don’t use it as an advert).
- Contact information such as a website address, email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page’s “About” section.
- References to Facebook features or actions, such as “Like” or “Share” or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features.
- Calls-to-action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends.”
- Covers must not be false, deceptive or misleading, and must not infringe on third parties’ intellectual property so be extra careful with copyright and claims.
