Social media tools for business.
As you probably know by now, I am a strong believer in the merits and value of marketing your business on social media. I truly believe it one of the the best way to get your products and services in front of the right people while building a meaningful relationship with them. It goes without saying that not all networks are created equal. It is important to review your unique requirements and then make a decition to to spend the most time and efforts on the social networks that will bring you the most return.
As already said, social media is an important and invaluable tool for any business. It extends your business’s brand reach and faciliates communication and engagement with the community you find yourself in. But what are the Big FIVE social media tools and networks and that are important for your business.
Which, in my opinion are the Social Media Sites Make Up The Big FIVE.
Social Media Marketing is all about connecting to right audience on the right social media network at the right time with the appropriate message for that audience.
Naturally there is so much more to deciding what social media site is the correct site for you and your business or services. But take a look at some of the sites that I would recommend you include.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is great if you are trying to connect with business decision makers and influencers. The approach on LinkedIn is all about business (local and international), doing business with others, connecting with people and making money. Pretty much like your BNI group or TNG Networking Group. It is important that any message suits this environment and with the increase of images and quotes of a varied nature filling the newsfeed, I often question as to whether some of these as appropriate message within this forum. What are your thoughts?
Facebook
Facebook is the friendship network. People are connect with and communicating with their friends. They talk about holidays, share baby pictures or childrens events. Community involvement, education, happiness and humour (to name but a few thoughts) are the tones to share within this online community.
Twitter
Where would this list be without Twitter? Twitter is the network for customer service and relationship building. All content is very public and because of this you should be monitoring and listening online to hear what people say about you and your any of your competitors.
Pinterest
A social media network that arrived on the scene quite suddenly. Pinterest is the “ladies club”. I often consider it to be like a large scrapbooking fratuernity. It is filled with women sharing recipes, DIY, home hacks and fashion advice. Images are King and Queen in this environment.
Google Plus
Google Plus is the SEO network. Not only is each post indexed uniquely on Google, the keywords can be found through search and it helpswith your website rankings. You should definitely be on Google + even if your business and social network isn’t there yet.
